MPQ’s pick for Most Underrated Pink Ranger : Katherine “Kat” Hillard
Yeah this shouldn’t be a surprise for those of you who follow me. I’ll be honest, Kat gets a lot of crap from those who refuse to remove their Kimberly and/or Tomberly glasses and see the character away from all that (who is strong, sweet, intelligent, and bold at times). Instead she’s seen as a fake lying-stealing man whore who is weak because of the character she replaced.
"My dearest friend, if you don’t mind…I’d like to join you by your side. Where we can gaze into the stars. And sit together, now and forever. For it is plain, as anyone can see. We’re simply meant to be."
You’re perfect just the way you are. Don’t let someones insults control who you are.

Wow its nice to know I’m not the only one that feels this way. The one thing I never understood from Tomberly fans was how they say that Tommy and Kat were forced/rushed on all of us. In a way yes they were, but Tommy and Kimberly were just as forced/rushed on us as well (coming from someone who use to ship Jason/Kim pretty big).
- Kim first sees Tommy at the tournament and right away finds herself physically attracted to him. The next day she asks him to come hang out with her and the rest of her friends
- Fast forward 18 episodes and Tommy finally asks Kimberly out. They start dating and are officially a couple
- Fast forward over a year later and Katherine comes into the picture (while under the spell) and finds herself attracted to Tommy. But once the spell is broken she joins the team while keeping her feelings of Tommy to herself and just becomes friends with him (respecting that he’s with someone)
- Fast forward over 35 episodes later, Kim sends a letter breaking up with Tommy. .
- Fast forward 33 episodes from there and Tommy decides to ask Kat out on a date
I’m not trying not to start a debate on who’s the better couple here and who’s not. I respect every ones opinion on who they like and don’t (even if i don’t accept it myself). I just find it frustrating at time when I hear people say Tommy & Kat were forced on all of us and rushed as way to bash the couple when the same scenario happens with Tommy & Kim
To me both of these relationships had chemistry in there own special way, and started off forced from the beginning because of the fact this is a kids show and the focus is more on the action of the show and less on the romance of it.
In my opinion, the reason some fans feel Tommy and Kat relationship was forced is because of the time they spent together and the episodes they had (class project of being a married couple, heading out to the desert,). But to me the writers were just trying to play them off as good friends whose friendship was starting to expand into something more (after the break up). Most of you can (and probably will ) argue that these two didn’t have chemistry. But to those of us who ship these two we did see a form of chemistry between them which we liked. Some of you will say because of the lack of chemistry it felt forced. And again I’ll say the fans that ship tomkat saw chemistry between the two and didn’t feel it was that rushed (compared to what some think)
Anyways this is just my two cents on this topic after reading the youtube post above.
Collage Post of the day ~ Catherine Sutherland
Their story starts off as enemies which leads to friends….to good friends…to more than friends…to a relationship…and finishes with happily ever after.
Tommy & Katherine ~ I ship it
Pretty sure I’m the only one that loves these two as a couple, but its true. I ship Tommy & Katherine while i prefer Kimberly & Skull together. I know Katherine comes of as creepy stalker trying to kill Kim and get with Tommy in the beginning, but I feel that was Rita’s spell doing all the work. After Kat broke the spell, she return to her normal sweet self, who kept her feeling to Tommy to herself and was just there for him as a friend (even after his break up with Kimberly).
One reason i just love about this relationship is how it just started off as a friendship and expands into so much more.
